Sierra Leone Ambassador to China, Ambassador Abu Bakarr Karim has presented his Letters of Credence to the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Ranil Wickremesinghe. Following the presentation, Ambassador Karim has now officially assumed the role of a non-resident High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
His Excellency, Ranil Wickremesinghe, warmly welcomed Ambassador Karim and wished him a successful tenure in his new role. The Prime Minister expressed his desire to enhanced cooperation and stronger diplomatic ties between Sri Lanka and Sierra Leone.
Ambassador Karim expressed sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Wickremesinghe for the warm reception and affirmed his commitment to foster bilateral relations between the two nations. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and mutual understanding in achieving common goals.
As High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Sri Lanka, the Sierra Leone Ambassador to China resident in Beijing, Ambassador Karim expressed his determination to promote trade, investment, cultural exchange and cooperation in diverse areas of mutual interest. He aims at strengthening the bonds between Sierra Leone and Sri Lanka thereby exploring opportunities for collaboration in fields such as economy, technology, education, agriculture, and tourism.
Earlier, Ambassador Karim who is also the non-resident High Commissioner to Sri Lanka extended warm greetings and felicitations from his Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, Government and the People of Sierra Leone to the Prime Minister, Government and People of Sri Lanka. In like manner, the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka reciprocated accordingly.
