In a move to familiarize himself with some of his colleagues in the diplomatic circle, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) embarked on courtesy call to African Ambassadors resident in Beijing (PRC).
Welcoming their colleague Ambassador to their respective Embassies in Beijing, the Ambassadors of Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Ivory Coast and Cameroon, assured Ambassador Abu Bakarr Karim of their support and collaboration in addressing common challenges. Advancing the interest of African Diplomatic Community in Beijing and working out initiatives on the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) as well as exploring opportunities for integrated programs. Discussions on how Agricultural Sector can be strengthened in Africa was part of the determination for the diplomats to work in close collaboration for food security and economic growth in the region.
The Ambassadors described their meet as an opportunity to strengthen diplomatic ties between Sierra Leone and their countries especially in trade relations.
The diplomatic tour provided a platform for fruitful discussions on collaboration in agriculture for the benefit of Africa, strengthen relationships, promote initiatives for ECOWAS, explore integrated programs, and facilitate the integration of the Sierra Leone Ambassador into the Africa Community of Ambassadors in China.
